Meet the players

Aron has been a key player on the Icelandic national team for many years. He is a left back and plays in jersey number 4.

Björgvin Páll is one of the most experienced players in the national team. He is a goalkeeper and plays in jersey number 1.

Gísli Þorgeir plays centre back and plays in jersey number 10. He was recently chosen as the Icelandic athlete of the year 2023.

Ómar Ingi is a right back and plays in jersey number 14 at EM 2024. He has twice been chosen Icelandic Athlete of the Year.

Viktor Gísli is a goalkeeper and plays in jersey number 16. He was selected as an "All-Stars" goalkeeper at the European Championship 2022.

Bjarki Már spent a decade of his career in Germany. He plays left wing in jersey number 8 at the EHF Euro 2024.

Ýmir Örn started his professional career at only 17 years old. He is a line player and plays in jersey number 11.

Sigvaldi plays the position of right wing in jersey number 22 at the EHF Euro 2024.

Kristján Örn, or Donni as most people call him is a right back and plays in shirt number 23.

Einar Þorsteinn plays for Fredericia and the Icelandic national team. He plays left back in jersey number 32 at the EHF Euro 2024.

Janus Daði went international at an early age. He plays centre back in shirt number 3 at the EHF Euro 2024.

Arnar Freyr played his first games with the national team when he was 19 years old, in 2015. He is a line player and plays in jersey number 21.

Elliði Snær grew up in Westman island, Iceland and now he plays with Gummersbach. He is a line player and plays in jersey number 18.

Haukur made history in 2019 when he became the youngest player to represent Iceland at the men's handball world championship. He plays centre back and plays in shirt number 25.

Óðinn Þór was the top scorer of the EHF European League in the 2022-23 season. He is a right wing and plays in jersey number 2.

Stiven started playing handball at 8 years old. He plays left wing and plays in jersey number 27.

Viggo plays in Leipzig, Germany. He plays right back in jersey number 7 at the EHF Euro 2024.
